Vessel: an exploration of form and material
The Creative School, Interior Design Program, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Patterned Boxes, Design Dynamics IV (IRD 400), Winter 2021. Course Coordinated by Jonathon Anderson.
In a study of form, function, materiality, and craft, each student will design and prototype a triptych of vessels. The project should not exceed 11” x 4.25” x 4.25” boundary box. Fasteners made of a different material may be used.
Students will be randomly assigned one of the three formal constraints (open, closed, passage) AND one of the three design considerations (personification, faux, eatable). Your project must celebrate both the formal constraint and design consideration.
The Egg Shell by Cecilia Peiyu Si (open, eatable).
