The project was very challenging due to the small size of the space (21.23 sqm / 228 sqf) and the trapezoidal shape of the store. Due to these factors, the choice of materials was crucial in minimizing the constraints — white surfaces, transparent glass displays, and partitions and cashier in opaque glass. A Little Free Library is a small public book-sharing box where people can borrow and return books, and it was placed along the Boa Viagem beach in Recife. These structures operate on a “take a book, leave a book” honor system. The structure was made of steel, with the upper portion featuring built-in lighting and designed to display advertisements and branding from companies that could sponsor the project. It is supported by a concrete base and topped with a red-and-white canopy. The colors reflect the city government's palette.
